Peer Preview: Student Showcase Exchange (For Student Presenters Only)

Before the official opening of Convergence 2025, student presenters have the exclusive opportunity to experience and interact with each other's projects in a collaborative and relaxed environment.

5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Showcase of Student Work (Public Opening)

Guests explore both the Grand Ballroom and Theater areas, observing and engaging with students and their creative projects.

7:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Digital Worlds 24-25 Award Presentation

Guest converge at the central stage of the Grand Ballroom for the announcement of the 24-25 awardees.

  • What is the Convergence Student Showcase?
    The Convergence Student Showcase is an annual event hosted by the UF Digital Worlds Institute, celebrating the creativity, talents, research, and innovation of digital arts and science students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • When and where will the event take place?
    The event is scheduled for April 24th, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM. It will be held at the UF Reitz Union - Grand Ballroom.
  • What parking options are available for the Convergence Student Showcase?
    Attendees of the Digital Worlds Institute's convergence event can find parking options at several locations. Attendees may park at the Reitz Union Welcome Center Garage, Garage 5, Garage 14, and the Frazier Rogers Parking Lot for free after 4:30 PM, when parking passes are lifted. Please note that from Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, parking fees apply at these locations.
  • What is Peer Preview: Student Showcase Exchange?
    Before the official opening of Convergence 2025, student presenters have the exclusive opportunity to experience and interact with each other's projects in a collaborative and relaxed environment. This pre-event fosters peer-to-peer feedback, celebration of each other's achievements, and valuable practice presenting and refining their work. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and inspire one another before sharing with the larger audience.
  • What can I expect at the Convergence Student Showcase?
    The presentation format of the showcase is designed as a reverse career fair or science fair, wherein students exhibit their projects either at tables or in a theater space. Guests actively explore the venue, interacting with the students and their projects.
  • Who can attend the Convergence Student Showcase and can I bring guests to the event?
    The event is free and open to the public. Yes, feel free to bring friends, family, or colleagues. The more, the merrier! We welcome everyone to join us in celebrating the achievements of our talented digital arts and science students.
  • I can't attend in-person, can I watch online?
    Yes, we understand that not everyone can attend in person. We'll be providing a live online stream of the Convergence Student Showcase to ensure that those unable to join us physically can still experience the excitement and creativity of the event. The live stream will be available at dwconvergence.com at the time of the event.
